A+ at keeping up with it All

I have managed to come out alive with my hair intact.  I survived our first week apart since James and I met.  Actually, the only time we have not spent together was the night before our wedding, in which I spent the night at my grandmother’s with my sister while we watched Father of the Bride.  (One of my favorite movies by the way).

James started his new job and was away in Toronto for a week training at head office.  I managed to look after both of my sick boys, keep up with Austin’s homework and the house, the laundry, bake muffins and brownies for the school’s bake sale, deliver them, grocery shop and did it all without James!  And on no sleep nonetheless.  Reign stopped sleeping through the night so I have been walking around in a fog.

I was dreading his departure because James is a very hands-on father with our boys.  It’s been a real blessing to have him be so involved in everything, and I knew the week he had to be gone, was gonna kick my ass.

But I’m a survivor.  One good thing about James being gone for a week?  I ran the dishwasher twice that week, instead of our regular 1-2 times per day.  Hmmmm.
