Valentine’s Day Date
So James and I have never really experienced a Valentine’s Day where we’ve gone out just the two of us. I know. You’re like, WHAT?
Well, all I can do is blame it on the kids. Actually, Reign just recently made his appearance on earth, so I guess it’s all Austin’s fault.
To be completely honest, I’ve always made it more about the kids. We got Austin some chocolate and a stuffed puppy, which he loved. I also baked homemade cupcakes for him and Reign got the cutest bath robe and a stuffed froggy. My heart melted when I saw the look on his face when we put the frog in front of him. His eyes lit up and he had the biggest smile on his face. He immediately grabbed it into a hug, and then proceeded to try to eat it.
I’m happy to say James and I actually went out, just the two of us for a very nice meal, at a very nice restaurant. For the week leading up to the big date, I frantically called several places to find out if they were having live blues/jazz jams (say that really fast 5 times in a row) for after dinner. No one was. On Valentine’s Day? Really?
When I called around, there was one particular place that usually offers live blues on Sundays, but told me they were hosting a Daytona 500 party instead. I guess that makes sense on Valentine’s Day. Have you seen Danica Patrick?
All I can say is the evening went well. And then we went home exhausted.
And went to sleep.
